It's that time of year, people!

Chicago Craft Beer Week - May 19 - May 27

Join us and our friends - some new, some old - as we once again set aside a week when it's okay for everyone to daydrink. Search this page by date:

May 19 - 20 - 21 - 23 - 24 - 25 - 26 - 27

Specialty Beers on Tap...

The Hopleaf, ChicagoMaibockThe Hopleaf, 5148 N Clark

Beer nerds! The only place to try the Maibock is The Hopleaf, and the only time to try it is CCBW. Pilsner, Munich, and Caramel Pilsner malts are in the forefront. Peppery, spicy Celeia hops compliment the biscuity honey-like sweetness of the malts. Maibock is the beer equivalent to a posh, pillowy Playboy mansion party.

Black Pepper Iron Works AltIn Fine SpiritsIn Fine Spirits, 5418-5420 N Clark

We've done it before, and we're doing it again - black peppercorn infused Iron Works in the cask! Black pepper spice enhances the dry, malty goodness of our Altbier. The cask will be tapped on Friday, May 20th. When it's gone. It's gone! (Until we make it again. It's pretty tasty.)

Specialty Beers, Special Events!

Beer Under GlassThursday, May 19th 5:30pm to 8:30pm - CCBW OPENING EVENT- Beer Under Glass at Garfield Park Conservatory, 300 N Central Park Ave

For the second year, local breweries team up with Garfield Park Conservatory for one of the prettiest beer fests you'll ever attend. Throughout the conservatory you'll enjoy the natural surroundings while sampling brews from all over Illinois. And really, anything is better with a beer sample in-hand, so join us!

Friday, May 20th starting at 7pm - Local Brewery Night at SmallBar, 1415 W Fullerton

SmallBar FullertonChad and Phil ran into Doug at a Guided By Voices show recently. And just like when the chocolate tumbled into the peanut butter, a collaboration was born. The three joined forces to brew a single-hop Pilsner named Gold Star for Robot Boy, a single half barrel of hoppy delicious joy. Come to SmallBar on Fullerton to try this brew along with beers brewed by our pals at Two Brothers and Half Acre.

Saturday, May 21st 12pm to 6pm - Beerfly Alleyfight, Drink! Eat! Watch!

The Drinking & Writing Theater presents: The Fifth Annual Beerfly Alleyfight at Haymarket Pub & Brewery (737 W. Randolph). The Beerfly Alleyfight is a combination of homebrewed beer, home-cooked food, and homegrown art. We promise: this event will impress you. Envision fierce competition tinged with the fun of getting drunk at a family reunion. Metro beer will be available, but really, you should drink the homebrew. We will be.

Saturday, May 21st 1pm to 5pm - Craft Day Afternoon, presented by Fizz and Map Room, 3220 N Lincoln

Drink for a good cause (for once)! More than 30 breweries teamed up for this great charitable event. All proceeds benefit Hamilton and Morton schools.

We heard rumors that folks wanted us to produce a Zwickel beer. Done. Attend this event to try Zwickel Flywheel alongside brews from Allagash, Bells, Capital, Flossmoor Station, Great Lakes, Shorts, Three Floyds, Two Brothers, and lots more.

Saturday, May 21st 4pm to 6pm - City Provisions Food/Beer Pairing at the Long Room, 1612 W Irving Park Rd

Long Room will partner with Cleetus Freidman of City Provisions and Vanilla Vixen's Heather Reardon for a food/beer pairing event that is flush with northside pride. For a mere $30, enjoy 4 savory courses and 2 sweet treats paired with beers from Metro, Lagunitas, Two Brothers, Victory, Stone, and Left Hand.

Monday, May 23rd starting at 7pm - Two Brothers and Metro Night at Blokes and Birds, 3343 N Clark St

We love partying with our pals at Two Brothers! To celebrate, we're both bringing a few one-offs to share. Ours will be a firkin of bitter orange peel & coriander infused Krankshaft. It's like Krankshaft put on a tux and took you to a nice party!

Tuesday, May 24th starting at 7pm - Chicago Rep Tap Takeover at Owen and Engine, 2700 N. Western Ave

We make no secret about how much we appreciate the reps who support the Chicagoland craft beer market. These people know more about craft beer than anyone else, and if you're clever, you'll buy one of them a beer sometime and listen to them talk about beer. Which they will. Without fail.

On Tuesday night, at Owen and Engine, some of these folks take command of the draft lineup and the winner is: you!

Wednesday, May 25th 4pm to 6pm - 5 Rabbit Cerveceria & Metro Brewing Meet & Greet at The Publican, 837 W. Fulton Market

5 Rabbit Cerveceria is not only the first Latin beer company in the US, but their beers are also designed by Randy Mosher! Double the awesome! Sample beers from 5 Rabbit and Metro Brewing, and enjoy appetizers from the eclectic menu of the renowned beer-focused restaurant.

Wednesday, May 25th starting at 7pm - Local Cask Beer Night at Fountainhead, 1968 W Montrose Ave

A great firkin night! Local breweries will tap extra-special beers for an extra-special fun time. Half Acre, Haymarket, Flossmoor Station, Metro, Three Floyd's and Two Brothers will all be supplying the goods.

We'll be tapping a firkin of Heavy Iron Works Sticke Altbier. First, we pulled wort from an Iron Works brew. Then we let it bubble and boil into an elixer that offers a tad more by way of malt flavor and of course, ABV. Finally, we conditioned it in a firkin because, why not?

Thursday, May 26th starting at 6pm - Metro Tapping Night at Jake Melnick's, 41 E Superior St

Our good friends at Jake's want to throw a party and we are SO there. We'll tap our regular brews and as we understand it, there might be a surprise or two. What? Sometimes this stuff happens outside of our control and really, that's cool with us.

Friday, May 27th 4 to 7pm and 8 to 11pm (evening session is sold out) - Beer Fistival at Revolution Brewing, 2323 N Milwaukee Ave

This year, the wrap-up bash is brought to you by the fine folks at Revolution Brewing. Admission includes limited run Beer Fistival taster glass, unlimited tastings of at least 13 Revolution Beers as well as beers from Half Acre, Goose Island, Rock Bottom Chicago, Metro Brewing, Finch's, Two Brothers, Haymarket Pub and Brewery and more breweries to be named soon!
