This year's Craft Brewers Conference and BrewExpo America will be held in Chicago! We warmly welcome our industry comrades to join us for four days of drinking it up Midwestern-style. Of course by day, we'll be learning more about craft beer in workshops and on the trade show floor. By night... well, a springtime evening barhopping in Chicago is something to be experienced in the flesh.

The conference and trade show itself are not open to the public, but there's a whole lot of stuff going on around town that craft beer lovers can attend. First, check out the massive calendar of events and event location map developed by CBC's host distributor, Windy City Distribution. (Our peeps! They give us so many reasons to be proud.) Of course, in celebration of our national industry get-together, Metro is spinning up some special beers and events...

(jump to) Wednesday, April 7th - Thursday, April 8th - Friday, April 9th

Our local hang-out and forever-loyal customer Hopleaf Bar will have one sixth barrel keg of Maibock on tap during CBC. This Maibock was brewed on our pilot brewing system which means it's really small. Come on out and try it while you can. The good news is that Doug really liked this batch, so maybe... next spring?

Don't just stand there! Have some Firkin Flywheel! Our good friends at Revolution Brewing Company will be featuring firkin-conditioned Flywheel during CBC.

Wednesday night, April 7th
10:30pm
Hackney's Printer's Row
733 S Dearborn, Chicago

After the opening reception at the Field Museum, we'll be joining our good pals at Two Brothers Brewing as we tap some special beers and get this conference started in a "damn this is a good party" sort of way. Metro will be tapping a Baltic Porter - one of the two times you'll have a chance to taste it.

Thursday night, April 8th
8:00pm
Reggie's Rock Club
2109 S State, Chicago

Starting at 5pm, the most kick ass bus ever will make rounds to the 3 main conference hotels (the Sheraton - 301 E North Water Street; W - 644 N LSD; and Four Points Sheraton - 630 N Rush). The bus will pick up anyone - conference attendees, local music/beer lovers, people who want to ride on a cool bus - and bring them to Reggie's Rock Club for a metal show and Metro beers. Just show up sometime between 5 and 8pm. If you're in a hurry, Tweet @MetroBrewing and let us know you're waiting. we'll see what we can do.

Reggie's is offering half-price burgers and sandwhiches that night, so join us for some eats and Metro beers before the show.

9pm - Floor Thirteen
10pm - Admiral of Black
11pm - Killer Moon
12am - Reptoids

You can get back to the hotels either on a return trip of the bus (not sure how late they'll run it, sorry) or you can use the El Red Line heading north. The Cermak/Chinatown exit is 1.5 blocks west of the rock club. Really though, a cab ride will be the fastest and not too terribly spendy.

Friday night, April 9th
Jake Melnick's
41 E Superior (@Wabash), Chicago

Join us for an extra special drinking night at Jake's! All of our beers will be available, and we'll be tapping two special beers made just for CBC from our Craftsman jockey box - a Maibock and a Baltic Porter. We aren't even naming these beers because they're so limited. Beer geek alert!
