More Eunice...

Ever since I was a tiny bud on my family vine, I knew my destiny would revolve around beer. This was no stroke of genius or intuition on my part. My ancestry can be traced all the way back to the 8th century. And since the 11th century, we have dedicated our lives almost exclusively to beer.

My enormous family originated in what is present-day Germany. Later, we immigrated throughout Europe, Northern Asia, and the Americas. My own great grandparents were a marriage of English (the Fuggles) and Russian (the Serebrainkers). Since we’re partial to moist, rainy climates, my parents decided to set down rhizomes in the Pacific Northwestern area of the US. Local family vines include the Cascades (that’s me), the Columbias, and the Willamettes.

The moment I had the good fortune to meet Gary and Walt, I knew my passion for beer and homebrewing was only too natural. Brewing beer brings out the best in me. While Gary excitedly concocts new and better homebrewing recipes, I’m always there to encourage his effervescent mind. While Walt’s sweet nature and contemplative, rhythmic stirring of the mash lends our homebrew its character and approachability, I’m always there to keep things intriguing.

Beer in the brew kettle fascinates me. Beer in the fermenter excites me. While beer on tap at my local pub keeps me content, our homebrew fills me with pride and a certain, heartfelt anticipation for the next tasty beer crafted by our own hands. But in the end, it’s the beer in the glass that delights and inspires me. Speaking of which, I’m thirsty. It’s time to brew!
